Construction of a senior school building and innovation centre for St Andrews Christian College

St Andrews Christian College will soon have new senior school buildings and an innovation centre after being named a recipient of a $250,000 Australian Government grant.

The grant, awarded as part of the Government’s Capital Grants Programme (CGP), will go towards construction of Senior School and Innovation Centre to include fit out of library, flexible learning spaces and meeting rooms.

The Member for Aston, the Hon Alan Tudge MP congratulated St Andrews Christian College on receiving the grant.

“These funds will ensure students at St Andrews Christian College have the infrastructure necessary to help them get the most out of their time at school,” Mr Tudge said.

“While buildings alone do not make a school, St Andrews Christian College students will benefit when these enhanced facilities are complete.”

“I am proud that the Abbott Government is delivering funding for this Stage 2 construction of the Senior School and Innovation Centre to include the fit out of a library, flexible learning spaces, and meeting rooms. This will provide benefits to students and the entire school community,” Mr Tudge said.

Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education and Training, said the CGP provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise may not have access to sufficient resources.

“The Abbott Coalition Government is committed to improving the quality of our school education and ensuring students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world,” Senator Ryan said.

“The Abbott Coalition Government believes in an education system that puts students first. A quality education gives young people the opportunity to achieve personal success and contribute to our nation.” Senator Ryan said.
