$50M SECURED TO DUPLICATE NAPOLEON ROAD
02-April-2019
Minister for Cities, Urban Infrastructure and Population, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, today announced Napoleon Road will be duplicated from Lysterfield Road to Kelletts Road with $50m in secured funding.
The upgrade involves the duplication of Napoleon Road from Lysterfield Road to Kelletts Road in Rowville, in Melbourne’s outer south-east. This section of Napoleon Road has been recommended as a priority for investment by the RACV due to the congestion faced by motorists travelling in both directions.
The upgrade will reduce congestion and improve road safety for all road users of Napoleon Road and provide efficient and reliable travel.
Mr Tudge said the much needed upgrade will benefit thousands of motorists each day.
“Napoleon Road is at capacity and desperately needs upgrading”
“This funding will provide full duplication making it faster and safer for everyone”
The funding is budgeted and secured and planning will be begin immediately.
It comes on top of other projects secured with federal funding including the Henderson Road Bridge and a new car park at Ferntree Gully station.
